Patio & Driveway Cleaning Chesterfield FAQ

Patio & Driveway Cleaning FAQs

• HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?
The amount of time it will take to clean will depend on size of the area and its current condition. Staining, dirt, weeds & Moss all build up over time – however the majority of drives, paths, patios or forecourts will be cleaned within one day.

• HOW MANY STAGES ARE THERE?
There are several cleaning processes dependant on the job:

1. Repair of any damaged areas.
2. Removal of algae, dirt, weeds and most stains using high powered rotary & lance pressure washing.
3. Application of weed killer.

Then once the surface is fully dry.
4. Re-sanding using kiln dried sand.
5. Application of your chosen sealer.

• WHAT ABOUT RE-SANDING AND SEALING?

• WHAT ABOUT WEED PREVENTION?
We apply a weed killer before re-sanding & the application of the sealant also help in preventing the jointing sand washing out giving additional protection against weeds.

• DO I NEED TO HAVE THE SURFACE SEALED?
Using a Sealant will help to restore the original colour of the surface. It also provides great protection against wear and tear and helps give a long lasting finish.

• CAN YOU REMOVE STAINS ?
Mould, mildew, algae, paint, mortar and even oil stains can often be completely removed. Our engineers will advise on individual stains as age and the porosity of the surface can have an affect.

• CAN I WALK ON THE SURFACE AFTER CLEANING?
After cleaning Yes. After the Sealant has been applied foot traffic should only be allowed after 3/4 hours and cars after a minimum of 24 hours.
